Inducted into the Creighton University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988, Dr. Lee C. Bevilacqua became the first person associated with Creighton athletics to be honored by the Missouri Vally Conference Hall of Fame when he was presented with the MVC Award of Merit on Sept. 1, 1998, in St. Louis, Mo.
Bevilacqua died in the fall of 1998 while on a road trip with the men's soccer team. He had spent more than 30 years (1962-82, 1986-98) as the Creighton Athletic Department's team physician without receiving any form of monetary compensation.
