
Volleyball Never Trails In Sweep of Charlotte

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Creighton volleyball team improved to 7-4 on the season with a 3-0 victory over Charlotte in Saturday morning action at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. The Bluejays never trailed in the match against Charlotte (8-4) in a 30-24, 30-24, 30-13 win.
Allie Oelke led Creighton with 13 kills and 11 digs for her third straight double-double. Also with double-digit kills were Lauren Bloemke (12) and Kelly Goc (11). Goc led Creighton with six blocks, while Bianca Rivera had a match-high 17 digs. Creighton hit .262 and had 51 kills, eight aces, 62 digs and 14.5 blocks.
Charlotte was paced by nine kills from Alma Arroyo. The 49ers hit just .017 and finished with 26 kills, six aces, 49 digs and eight blocks.
Creighton returns to action at 7:30 pm tonight with a match against No. 13 Minnesota (5-3). With a win, the Bluejays would claim the Gopher Invitational title.
