
Tennis Teams Rout Nebraska Wesleyan

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's tennis team finished its regular season with a 6-1 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at the Koch Family Tennis Center. The Bluejay women also came away with a 6-1 win over the Prairie Wolves.
The men's squad reached the .500 mark with the victory at 9-9, while the women improved to 7-11.
The Bluejay men took all three doubles matches to earn the team point. CU then took five of six singles matches. Nikita Dudar (No. 2), Joe Eckert (No. 3), James McAvoy (No. 4), Bryan Lube (No. 5) and Ross Allen (No. 6) all came away with straight set victories.
On the women's side, Creighton captured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 (Leesa and Sarah Cadwallader) and No. 2 (Lauren Mastro and Lindsey Erickson). The Jays then won five of the six singles matches, including Erickson at No. 1, Mastro at No. 2, Sarah Cadwallader at No. 3, Leesa Cadwallader at No. 4 and Rachelle Shoji at No. 5.
The Creighton women will wrap up their regular season on Sunday, with a 10 AM match against Missouri Valley Conference rival Northern Iowa.
The Creighton men will begin preparation for the MVC Team Championships, which will take place April 25-27 in Omaha.
