This Weekend's Opponent
The Bluejays will travel to Indiana on Thursday to face Evansville in the both teams' last regular season match before the MVC Tournament.
Purple Ace Series
Creighton has struggled against Evansville, posting an 8-14-1 mark in the series history. Since 2000, CU is 5-2-1 in regular season matches with the Purple Aces, but just 2-3-0 in MVC tournament play in that time.

Creighton has scuffled, going 1-2-1 in its last four matches. The Jays used a last-second goal to tie last place Northern Iowa on Sunday to keep their first round bye hopes alive.

Bye, Bye, Bye
Six MVC teams will play their last regular season conference match on Thursday, and a lot of movement in the standings is still possible. Illinois State has clinched the No. 1 seed, securing a bye, and UNI will not qualify for the tournament. The second bye is still up for grabs, as Missouri State can clinch it with a point against Illinois State. If they lose, Creighton clinches it with a win at Evansville. With a loss the Jays could fall as far to sixth.
Home Scoreless Streak Broke
UNI's goal with just over 21 minutes remaining in Sunday's match broke a long, home shutout streak for the Jays. The last goal allowed by Creighton at home was in September against Arizona State, a stretch spanning 412:42.
Not Against a Record
Barring a major collapse in the season's final matches, the CU keepers should set the season goals against average mark. The current standard is 0.81, set in 2004. Alicia Montgomery and Kaitie Jo Swanson have combined for? 0.57 GAA this year, with Montgomery sporting a 0.54 mark and Swanson sitting behind her at 0.67. Both should also qualify for CU's individual list as well, as they currently sit at second and third respectively.
Host History
Creighton will try to earn its fifth berth in the NCAA Tournament under Bruce Erickson when the MVC Tournament begins on Sunday. Creighton hosts the tournament for the fourth time, and have won it two of the three previous times it has hosted.
Ace-ing the Tournament
This week's opponent in Evansville has been Creighton's chief nemesis come tournament time. The Purple Aces have defeated the Jays in tournament play six times since 1997. They are the only MVC team to defeat Creighton in the tournament in a non-shootout setting.
Hat Trick
Mary Zapapas recorded three assists in last week's 7-0 win over Southern Utah. Zapapas was the first Jay in four years to record three assists in a match. The last to do it was Kristine Willrett, who posted a three against Northern Iowa on Oct. 12, 2005.
Spreading it Out
Seven different Jays scored in the 7-0 victory over Southern Utah. The last time the seven different players scored for CU was on Sept. 17, 2009 against Youngstown State in Ames, Iowa.
Coincidence?
The last regular season conference match has been telling for the Jays the last four seasons. The two times the Jays have won their final regular season MVC contest, they have gone on to win the MVC Tournament. The two times they have lost, they have been knocked out in the first round. In fact, all four seasons the Jays have qualified for the NCAA tourney, they have won their final regular season conference match.

With one game remaining, Emily Orbell and Brittney Neumann sit 1-2 on the team in points. Orbell leads Neumann by one point, as she is tied for second in the MVC with 17 (6g/5a) and Neumann is tied for fourth with 16 (6g/4a). Illinois State's Jessica Carlson leads the league with 23 points (9g/5a).

In the latest NCAA Statistical Rankings, the Jays continued to stay near the top in goals against average. Their mark of 0.57 was good for 12th in the nation. Dayton leads the country with a 0.27 mark in 17 matches.

The Jays also secured another winning season, as they sit at 10-5-2 with one regular season match remaining. Creighton has now produced nine straight winning seasons under Bruce Erickson, and have not had a sub-.500 season since 2000.

Speaking of winning records, the Jays have secured yet another winning season at home. The Jays have had just one season in which they have finished below .500 at home (1995).
Wright Nets First Goal
Kat Wright was one of the seven different Jays to score a goal against Southern Utah, resulting in her first career goal. The redshirt freshman is in her first season with Creighton after transferring from Arizona.
Lind Puts Point Up
Alexa Lind joined Wright in scoring her first collegiate point in the Southern Utah match. Lind assisted on Annemarie Hengel's goal in the second half to put up her first point of the season.
No More Than Two
Going into the last match of the season, the Jays have yet to allow more than two goals in a game. If the Jays can hold their opponents to less that a pair in their remaining games, it will be the first time in program history that feat will have been accomplished.
Clutch Connolly
Kelly Connolly has scored four goals for Creighton this season; three of which have been of the game-tying or winning variety. Connolly provided game-winners against Cal-State Northridge on Sept. 4 and Indiana State on Sept. 25, and on Sunday her goal with less than 30 seconds remaining gave the Jays a key tie against Northern Iowa. Connolly, a sophomre, came into the year without? a point in her career.
