No. 2 Creighton to Face No. 3 Illinois State in MVC Tournament Semis

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Creighton women's basketball team will battle Illinois State in the MVC Tournament Semifinals on Saturday, March 16 at 4:05 p.m. The game will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest, FOX Sports Indiana, FOX Sports Kansas City, FOX College Sports, Comcast SportsNet Chicago and ESPN3 outside the league's six-state footprint of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
The second seeded Jays advanced to the semifinals with a 60-43 win over No. 10 Southern Illinois on Friday.
Illinois State, the three seed, downed No. 6 Bradley 59-48 in the final quarterfinal contest Friday night.
Creighton and Illinois State split the season series with the Bluejays taking the game in Omaha on Jan. 11 (64-45). Illinois State won in Normal, Ill. (66-60) on Feb. 10.
The two teams have met four times in the MVC Tournament with the Bluejays holding a 3-1 series edge. The last meeting came in 2008, Illinois State's lone win over the Jays (68-60).
