Creighton (12-4) celebrated its senior Elliott Baker in its final home match of the year against South Dakota State (12-8). SDSU took the doubles point by winning two out of three matches to jump out to an early lead.
After the Jackrabbits won the No. 1 doubles match 8-3, the Creighton junior duo of Quinn Dippel and Nick Thompson won by the same margin at No. 3 doubles. SDSU later earned the first team point with an 8-6 decision on doubles court two.
The teams split the six singles matches on the day with the lead flipping back and forth.
Creighton evened the match when junior August Nysted earned a 6-0, 7-6 victory at No. 6 singles.
Baker then made good on his Senior Day singles match on court four to give the Bluejays the lead at 2-1 after his 6-2, 7-5 victory.
SDSU evened the match a 2-all with a win on court three and moved in front after claiming a tough three-set win at the top spot for a 3-2 edge.
Creighton tied the match at 3-3 after sophomore Aaron Chalstrom's three-set victory on court five.
But the Jackrabbits pulled out the final match of the day on court two in another three-set battle to claim the team match point.
The Bluejays end their regular season with a pair of BIG EAST matches in Indianapolis next weekend against host Butler and Xavier.
