
Men's Tennis Ends 2015 with 4-2 Setback to DePaul

INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 7 seed Creighton men's tennis team fell 4-2 to No. 3 seed DePaul at the Butler Bubble in a backdraw quarterfinal match of the BIG EAST Tennis Championship Presented by New York Life Saturday afternoon.
Creighton (12-8) dropped the doubles point to DePaul (11-13) as the Blue Demons swept matches on courts one and two to take an early 1-0 lead.
CU sophomore Jake Norman evened the match at 1-1 with a quick 6-3, 6-2 decision at No. 1 singles. Classmate Harrison Lang extended the Jays' lead to 2-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 decision on court four.
But DePaul was able to rally to win in straight sets on courts three, two and six to claim the match point.
In the final match of his Creighton career, Baker forced deciding set on singles court five but the decision went down unfinished. Baker dropped the first set 6-4 but regrouped to win set two 6-3. The final set was on serve before it was called at 2-1.
The quarterfinal backdraw contest marked the final match of the 2014-15 Creighton men's tennis season.
