Men's Tennis Closes Road Slate With Sweep At Western Illinois

Bluejays only drop more than two games in one match
MACOMB, Ill. -- The Creighton men's tennis team closed out its road schedule with a convincing 7-0 sweep at Western Illinois on Sunday.
The win improved Creighton to 7-9 on the season, while Western Illinois is winless in 15 matches.
Creighton started on the right path by winning all three of its doubles matches. Alex Koca and Brooks Kendall won 6-0 at No. 2 while Aaron Chalstrom and Quinn Dippel teamed for a 6-1 victory at No. 3. The tightest match of the day was at No. 1 doubles, where Harrison Lang and August Nysted earned a 7-5 victory over Nikola Pavlovic and Surya Sawhney.
Creighton rolled in the six singles matches, never dropping more than one game in any of the 12 sets that were contested. Lang (at No. 3) and Chalstrom (at No. 5) both cruised to victory in singles play without dropping a game. Alex Koca won 6-1, 6-1, as well, for his first career victory in the No. 1 singles slot with the Bluejays.
Creighton closes its regular-season next weekend, starting Friday at 12:30 pm when it hosts South Dakota State before welcoming Hastings at 4 pm on Saturday.
