Des Moines, Iowa -- Creighton rowing bested Drake on Saturday, Nov. 4 in the annual fall duel between the two rivals.
This season the two squads competed at a new location on the Des Moines River and in a new racing format, racing each other on a 650-meter sprint course off the program's boat dock. The teams competed in three official races, varsity 8+, 2nd varsity 8+ and varsity 4+, in a best of three flights format for each race.
Creighton won two out of the three official races to claim the trophy awarded to the champion. The Bluejays were victorious in both flights of the 2nd varsity 8+ and the varsity 4+ to retain the trophy for the second-straight year. The Bulldogs' varsity 8+ boat won both of their flights.
