Rowing Defeats Drake in Dual Regatta

Des Moines, Iowa -- The Creighton women's rowing team earned the win in Saturday's dual regatta with Drake, claiming five of the eight races between the two schools.
The matchup with Drake closed Creighton's fall season, the Bluejays return to action in the spring heading to Texas for a Spring Break trip in early March.
"Today's races were solid from top to bottom," noted assistant coach Joy Dobrauc. "It was good to start off the morning winning both varsity eights and the first varsity four, that set a really good tone for the rest of the day."
"We also saw some good rowing from the novice boats, making strong improvements for the semester." continued Dobrauc. "Some of these freshmen had never raced before, so it was nice to see them finally get out there after all the hard work they put in. It was a good note to send us inside for the winter season. We're excited to put in some work on the rowing machines and really see how we can transition over the next few months of being inside."

Creighton took the first race with 3:45.1 with Drake trailing in at a 3:57.2.
Drake took the second race with 3:49.6 Creighton following with a 3:51.5.
Creighton took the third race with 3:42.1 followed by Drake's 3:54.8.
