Men's Soccer Closes Season with 3-0 Loss to Providence

Providence, R.I. -- The 2023 Creighton Men's Soccer season came to a close as the Bluejays dropped a 3-0 decision to Providence on Saturday, November 4th in the Quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament.
The loss dropped Creighton to 4-7-6 in 2023, while Providence moves on to face the winner of the Xavier/Akron match with a record of 8-5-3.
The Friars took the advantage early as Providence scored in the first minute of action (0:56). Brandon McSorely collected his tenth goal of the season, converting a series of passes from Nathan Messer and Rodrigo Vaza.
Despite falling behind 1-0 in the opening moments, the Bluejays pushed the Friars at every opportunity. Both teams fired off five shots in the opening half, but Providence broke the match open in the second half with goals in the 70th and 76th minutes. The Friars' second goal came from Bruno Rosa's fourth goal with exactly 70:00 showing on the clock. A second goal by McSorely with 75:07 on the clock provided insurance.
