Roman Torres Chosen 25th in the MLS SuperDraft

Omaha, Neb. -- Bluejay junior Roman Torres was selected by Minnesota United FC with the 25th overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft.

Torres concluded his first season as a Bluejay in 2024, claiming All-BIG EAST Third Team honors. Roman started 17 matches for the Bluejays, playing 1,442 minutes. He delivered three goals and two assists, including the game-winner in Creighton's 3-0 win over Tulsa on September 14. Torres' first point as a Bluejay came on an assist in the Bluejays' 4-2 win over San Francisco on September 1, he followed with goals against Tulsa and at Providence in Creighton's 2-2 draw with No. 18 Providence on September 28.

Later in the season Roman delivered an assist in the Bluejays' 6-1 win over Butler on October 26, then delivered his third goal of the year in Creighton's 5-2 win at Marquette on November 2.

The last time a Creighton player was selected in the MLS SuperDraft came after the College Cup run in December of 2022 as Duncan McGuire went sixth to Orlando and Owen O'Malley went ninth to St. Louis.
