#12 Volleyball Ends Exhibition Season With Win Over Colorado State

Bluejays open season Friday vs. NC State
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The No. 12 Creighton Volleyball team closed out its exhibition season with a 3-2 victory at Colorado State on Saturday afternoon at Moby Arena. The Bluejays won by scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-15, 26-28, 10-15.
Even though Creighton won the first three sets, the teams had determined prior to the match that they'd play five sets to allow for maximum preparation for the start of the regular-season. Both coaches tinkered with their lineups throughout in an attempt to find winning combinations, as well as giving experience to the talented newcomers joining each program.
Creighton has won 10 straight BIG EAST regular-season titles and is a unanimous pick to the league in 2024, while Colorado State owns eight league titles in the last 12 years and is favored to win the Mountain West Conference this fall.
Creighton opens the regular-season on Friday when it hosts the Bluejay Invitational. The Bluejays face NC State on Friday at 6 p.m., Missouri on Saturday at 5 p.m., and Drake at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
