
Softball Announces 2026 Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. --Â Creighton Softball head coach Krista Wood announced the Bluejays' 2026 schedule on Monday, December 15, highlighted by 16 home contests at the newly constructed Creighton Softball Stadium.Â

The Bluejays are set to play in four non-conference tournaments and host 12 home games against conference opponents. Additionally, Creighton will play five different teams that made the 2025 NCAA Tournament (Arizona, Coastal Carolina, Nebraska, Omaha, UConn).Â

Fresh off a second consecutive BIG EAST Finals appearance and its first back-to-back 30-win seasons since 2009-10, Wood's begins her fourth season in the Bluejay dugout with 24 consecutive games on the road, starting with five contests at the Bearkat Classic in Huntsville, Texas.  CU hits leadoff against Central Arkansas and host Sam Houston on Feb. 6, before taking on the Bears and the Bearkats once more on Feb. 7. The Jays wrap up their stay at the Bearkat Classic on Feb. 8 with a matchup against South Dakota.Â

The Bluejays will then head to the desert for five games on Feb. 13-15 at the Bear Down Fiesta hosted by Arizona. Creighton battles former Missouri Valley Conference rival Drake and Coastal Carolina on Feb. 13, with contests against Drake and Utah Valley set for Feb. 14. The tournament closes with a monster matchup against perennial power Arizona on Feb. 15.Â

CU makes a return trip to the Lone Star State the following week for the Boerner Invitational, where they open play on Feb. 20 against South Dakota and host UT-Arlington. The Jays will then renew their rivalry with two contests against Wichita State on Feb. 21, followed by a rematch with UT-Arlington on Feb. 22.Â

The fourth and finals tournament of the opening month takes the Bluejays to Colorado for the Colorado Classic, which is co-hosted by Northern Colorado and Colorado State. The Bluejays will begin play with a doubleheader on Feb. 27 in Greeley, Colo. against Northern Colorado, before making the trip over to Fort Collins to face off against Northern Colorado and Colorado State on Feb. 28 and the Rams once more on March 1.Â
Creighton will then open BIG EAST play on the road at Seton Hall (March 6-8), before traveling to Kansas City on March 10.Â

Following 24 straight games on the road, Creighton is scheduled to open its 19-game home slate with BIG EAST series against Providence (March 13-15) and Villanova (March 20-22). The Bluejays will sandwich a midweek contest against Iowa State on March 18, marking the first meeting with the Cyclones since 2016.

CU closes out the month of March with a crosstown battle at Omaha on March 25, before hosting in-state rival Nebraska for the first time since 2019 on March 31.Â

Creighton opens April with four of their first five contests on the road, beginning with a BIG EAST series at Butler on April 2-4. The Jays then host South Dakota on April 7 and travel across I-80 to battle Drake on April 8, before returning home to take on Georgetown on April 10-12.Â

The Bluejays close out the road portion of the regular season with east coast trips to defending BIG EAST Regular Season champion St. John's (April 17-19) and defending BIG EAST Tournament champion Connecticut (April 24-26). The regular season comes to a close the following week with home contests against Omaha on April 28 and a weekend series against DePaul on May 1-3.

The 2026 BIG EAST Championships are scheduled for May 6-9 in Rosemont, Ill. The top four teams in the final conference regular season standings will play in the postseason tournament, with the winner receiving the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Regionals.Â

The 64-team NCAA Tournament is slated to start on May 15 and concludes with the NCAA Women's College World Series on May 28-June 5 in Oklahoma City, Okla.Â
