Five Creighton Men's Soccer Players Ink Pro Contracts

Omaha, Neb. -- Five members of the 2024 Creighton Men's Soccer squad inked professional contracts this spring.
Jackson Castro and Mark O'Neill remained teammates, signing with the Vancouver Whitecaps. Lucio Berron signed with San Antonio FC. Ramon Torres went to Minnesota United in the MLS Draft, while goalkeeper Blake Gillingham signed with the Houston Dynamo.
Playing two seasons at Coastal Carolina and his final two at Creighton, Berron appeared in 61 matches (31 with Creighton), including 44 starts (25 with the Bluejays). He closed his career with one goal and three assists, primarily playing in the midfield.
Castro played four seasons with Creighton, appearing in 74 matches, including 63 starts. He logged a combined 5,182 minutes on the pitch for the Bluejays, with 22 goals and 23 assists. Jackson earned his second consecutive All-BIG EAST First Team selection following the 2024 season. He was also an All-BIG EAST Second Team pick during the Bluejays' College Cup run in 2022.
O'Neill was a five-year player for Creighton, appearing in 83 matches with 77 starts along the backline. Mark was an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection in 2024 and an All-BIG EAST Third Team pick in 2023. O'Neill delivered 10 goals and four assists, including three goals and two assists last season. Throughout his career O'Neill logged better than 6,689 minutes on the pitch.
Torres earned an All-BIG EAST Third Team honor after his lone season at Creighton. Roman transferred to Creighton after one season at Iowa Western JC, where he scored four goals. As a Bluejay during the 2024 campaign, Roman was responsible for three goals and two assists.
Gillingham spent two seasons in Omaha, transferring to Creighton after one year at Santa Clara. During his career Gillingham logged 2,897 minutes in net, including every minute of his 29 matches as a Bluejay. Blake delivered five shutouts and 12 victories at Creighton, posting a 1.45 GAA in his career.
"We pride ourselves in helping every student athlete that comes through our program develop into great young men!," said head coach Johnny Torres. "They come to Creighton with dreams and aspirations- one of those being the dream of becoming a pro. This year we've saw five sign with pro clubs. I believe this is a testament their hard work, to our program at Creighton, and our Omaha community. We wish our boys the best of luck in their next chapter- we are excited to see them blaze a trail!"
