Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Women's Basketball head coach Jim Flanery announced the signing of incoming freshman Tara Dacic for the 2025-26 season.
Dacic is originally from Belgrade, Serbia, and the 6'2'' forward played high school basketball in San Francisco during last season. Dacic was named the San Francisco Chronicle Regional Player of the Year, a First Team All-West Catholic Athletic League selection and earned the MVP Sabrina Ionescu Tournament.Â
After coming to the States in the fall of 2024, Dacic began playing for Archbishop Riordan High School in January of 2025. She led Riordan to a second place finish in the West Catholic Athletic League with a 19-9 overall mark and an 8-4 record in WCAL contests.Â
During the 2024-25 season Dacic averaged 12.9 ppg and 9.5 rebounds per contest. Playing for the Serbian National Team, Dacic led the 2021 FIBA U16 European Challengers Division B team to a first place finish as well as the 2024 FIBA U18 Eurobasket Division A squad to a third place finish.
"Tara has a great skill set for her size. She's super mobile and can finish with either hand around the basket," said Flanery. "Her experience with the international game playing against older and high-level players will help her transition to the college game. Even though the process of recruiting her was a quick one, we're thoroughly impressed with her attitude, approach and the things she valued in that process."
