Maly and Jensen Earn I-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete Team Honors

Maly Earns Post-Graduate Scholarship and Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Omaha, Neb. – Morgan Maly and Lauren Jesnen of the Creighton women's basketball team have been named to the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association's 23rd Annual Scholar-Athlete Team. Maly was named the women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned the $5,000 post-graduate scholarship, becoming the first Bluejay to earn both honors
This is the second time that Maly has made the team and third straight season for Jensen. Maly and Jensen the only Bluejays to earn a spot on the squad in multiple season, while six other players were named to one D1-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete Team. The other six are Jaylyn Agnew (2020), Marissa Janning (2017), Sarah Nelson (2013), Sara Cain (2010), Sam Schuett (2010) and Ally Thrall (2010).
Entering the spring with a 3.93 GPA as she works toward a pre-med degree in exercise science at Creighton, Maly earned Second Team honors this season. Last year Morgan was a Third Team selection. On the court Maly closed her Creighton career as the Bluejays' three-point leader with 333 made treys. She finished second in points scored with 2,072, including a career-best 571 this season. Appearing in several career lists, Morgan is the free-thrown percentage record holder at Creighton, hitting 87.8% of her shots from the charity stripe (223-of-254) and closed her career with 801 rebounds.
Jensen closed the 2025 season as Creighton's leading scorer with 588 points (17.8 ppg), a figure that ranks seventh on the Bluejays' single-season scoring list. Jensen was second for the Bluejays with 121 assists and grabbed 132 rebounds this season (4.1 rpg). Her 229 made field goals in 2024-25 is tied for fourth in Bluejay single season Top-10 list. Throughout her career Jensen moved past the 2,000-point threshold both at Creighton (2,059 points) and in her career (2,083 points) during March. She closed her career third all-time for the Bluejays in scoring, fifth in scoring average (15.96), third in made field goals (777), second in free-throw percentage (86.4%) and ninth in assists (390).
Lauren and Morgan each earned their third consecutive All-BIG EAST First Team selection as well as BIG EAST All-Tournament Team recognition as they helped guide Creighton to the BIG EAST Finals. Creighton finished its 2024-25 season with a 26-7 record, setting a program record with its fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Basketball players from all Division I-AAA ADA member institutions are eligible for these prestigious annual awards. Each of the nominees is required to maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletics credentials. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games listed on the nomination form. To be eligible for nomination to the Scholar-Athlete Team, individuals must have reached junior academic standing at their respective institution (ineligible athletics transfers are not eligible).
