Late Goal Punctuates Men's Soccer's 2-0 Win at DePaul

Chicago, Ill. -- Creighton Men's Soccer posted its third consecutive clean sheet and fifth in the last six matches, defeating DePaul 2-0 on Saturday, September 27.
The victory lifted the Bluejays to 5-2-2 on the season and 2-0-0 in BIG EAST contests, while DePaul fell to 2-3-5 overall and 0-1-1 in conference action.
Miguel Arilla got Creighton on the board in the 16th minute, turning a DePaul foul in the box into a penalty kick tally with 15:24 showing on the clock.
The two squads battled throughout the next 74 minutes before the Bluejays put the match away with a goal in the final seconds. This time Arilla setup captain Matthew Reed with a crossing pass. Reed wasted little time blasting in his third goal of the season to deliver the 2-0 win at 89:50.
Creighton and DePaul each fired off 17 shots, while the Bluejays held a 7-6 edge on corners created.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Friday, October 3 in a road match at UConn, with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m.
