Men’s Tennis Concludes Oklahoma Road Trip with 4-0 Setback Against Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. – The Creighton men's tennis team dropped its third consecutive match, falling to Tulsa, 4-0, on Sunday morning at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Oklahoma.
The loss drops the Bluejays to 4-3 on the year, while the Golden Hurricane improved to 6-5 overall with the win.
Tulsa earned victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles positions to secure the first point of the match. Calum Jestin and Connor Doig posted a 6-1 win at the top spot, while Nikita Volonski and Timo Carlsson Seger clinched the point with a 6-3 win on the No. 2 doubles court. Freshman Mathis Dahler and senior Zachary Kuo led 5-4 on court No. 3 before going unfinished.
In singles play, Tulsa captured straight set wins at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles positions to claim the overall dual.
Creighton's Kirtan Patel, Yuma Daijima and Dahler won the opening set on their respectable court before Tulsa clinched the overall dual.
The Bluejays return to action on Thursday, February 12 for a doubleheader against Nebraska-Kearney and Pratt Community College at the Hanscom Tennis Center. The Jays will kickout action against the Lopers at 11 a.m. followed by a 4 p.m. match against Pratt CC.
