Omaha, Neb. -- Meaningful treys in the final minute are becoming common in Omaha, Super Bowl Sunday saw Neleigh Gessert force overtime with a trifecta with 20 seconds remaining to help Creighton Women's Basketball defeat Marquette, 80-74, in overtime on February 8. The win evened the Bluejays' record at 12-12 on the season and gave them an 8-7 mark in BIG EAST action. Marquette fell to 16-8 overall and 10-5 in conference contests.
While Gessert nailed the game tying three, the tandem of freshman Ava Zediker and graduate transfer Grace Boffeli were Creighton's driving force throughout Sunday's win.  Zediker and Boffeli accounted for 48 points, 20 rebounds and nine assists, including 11 of the Bluejays' 13 points in the extra session.
The Bluejays fell behind 58-46 in the opening moments of the fourth quarter as Marquette's Lee Volker dropped in a layup (9:46).
