
Softball Trio Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton Softball's Ella Dalton, Landrie Harris and Brooklyn Patchen were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, May 26. This marks the third straight year Dalton has landed on the Academic All-District team, while Patchen is claiming her second straight recognition with Harris earning the honor for the first time in her career.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions, NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 16, 2026.
Garnering her third CSC Academic All-District® honor, Dalton graduated this spring with a 3.78 GPA and a bachelor's degree in graphic design and film with a minor in business administration. A three-time NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete and eight-time member of the Creighton honor roll, Dalton has once again excelled in the classroom and on the field. The Elkhorn, Neb. native started all 59 games, posting a .270 batting average with 10 doubles, 25 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 33 runs scored.
Patchen, meanwhile, claimed her second consecutive Academic All-District® honor after owning a 3.54 GPA in exercise science. A two-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and a six-time member of the Creighton honor roll, Patchen posted another quality season in the circle for the Bluejays this season. The Whitehouse, Ohio native recorded five wins and a 4.64 ERA with 59 strikeouts in 69.1 innings of work.
Earning her first CSC Academic All-District honor, Harris owns a 3.68 GPA while majoring in healthcare administration with a minor in business. A former NJCAA First Team NJCAA All-American and a member of the NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete team, Harris guided the Bluejays to its third consecutive 30-win season, racking up seven wins and a team-best 4.29 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 76.2 innings of work. Earlier this month, the Flower Mound, Texas native guided the Bluejays to its third straight runner-up finish at the BIG EAST Tournament, where she earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Tournament team after posting a 2-0 record and a 3.44 ERA with nine punchouts in 18.1 innings.

Academic Standing:
- Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
- Student-athletes must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination either as undergraduates or graduate students. Only the school at which an athlete competed in the current academic year can nominate that player.
- Student-athletes who have graduated from their own institution during the current academic year and are not competing in athletics at another institution at the time of nomination are eligible.
- An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
- The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
Athletic Eligibility: Sport-specific Nomination Criteria
- SOFTBALL - Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances OR pitched 35 innings.
