Bluejay Tennis Rolls Past Saint Ambrose

ORLANDO, Fla. ? The Creighton men's and women's tennis teams continued their spring break trip Tuesday afternoon with 7-0 victories over NAIA member Saint Ambrose University. Both Bluejay teams move their season records to the .500 mark, as the men improved to 4-4 and the women to 3-3.

Both teams won each of the six singles and three doubles matches against Saint Ambrose. In men's singles action, Jose Guerra (No. 1), Nikita Dudar (No. 2), Joe Eckert (No. 3), Brian Ward (No. 4), James McAvoy (No. 5) and Michael Elson (No. 6) all came away with straight set victories. In doubles play, Eckert and Dudar (No. 1), Guerra and Ward (No. 2) and Bryan Lube and Ross Allen (No. 3) each won convincingly.

On the women's side, Lauren Mastro (No. 1), Lindsey Erickson (No. 2), Sarah Cadwallader (No. 3), Leesa Cadwallader (No. 4), Cassie Yoneshige (No. 5) and Rachelle Shoji (No. 6) each won their singles matches in straight sets. Twin sisters Leesa and Sarah Cadwallader teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles, while Erickson and Mastro (No. 2) and Yoneshige and Shoji (No. 3) were also victorious.

The men's match with LaSalle scheduled for 3 p.m. was cancelled due to unfavorable playing conditions caused by heavy winds. The men will next be in action on Thursday against Sacred Heart, while the women's squad will play tomorrow (Wednesday) against James Madison.
