LINCOLN, Neb. - J.T. Christian picked up Creighton's lone win at No. 3 singles, but Nebraska was too much for Creighton, as the Cornhuskers dealt the Bluejays a 6-1 defeat at the Nebraska Tennis Center, Saturday afternoon.
"I think we played pretty well," said head coach Tom Lilly. "They [Nebraska] will probably be the best team we play all year and despite the loss it was a good start to the season," Lilly added.
The Huskers clinched the victory early, sweeping the three doubles matches and winning the first three singles matches that were completed.
The dual started with three doubles match wins for Nebraska as Chris Aumueller and David Bendheim topped CU's Billy Paluch and J.T. Christian 8-3 at No. 1 singles.
Bryan Lube and Sean Mathison put up a fight at No. 3 doubles, sending the match to a tiebreak. The Huskers came out on top, however, as Brandon Videtich and Drew Freeman earned a 9-7 win.

The Huskers got out to a quick start in the singles portion of the match, winning the first three matches. Francois Van Impe made quick work of Nagy at No. 2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Benedikt Lindheim topped Obermeier 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, and Bendheim followed by beating Paluch 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles.
