
Men's Tennis Sweeps Past Doane 7-0

OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton men's tennis team swept past Doane 7-0 at the Hanscom Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon.
With the victory, Creighton (12-3) has now won eight of its last 10 matches while Doane (5-3) dropped only its third match of the year.
Eleven Bluejays saw action either in singles or doubles on the day. Senior Elliott Baker was the lone Jay to play both disciplines and went 2-0 on the day.
Creighton opened the match by sweeping the doubles point. Junior August Nysted teamed up with Baker for an 8-2 decision at the top spot. Junior Nick Thompson and sophomore Harrison Lang teamed up to win on court to by a score of 8-1. At No. 3 doubles it was junior Anthony Rauschenbach and sophomore Michael Koch teaming up for an 8-2 victory.
All six Bluejays claimed their singles decisions in straight sets, all surrendered five games or fewer to their foes.
Baker won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles to complete a perfect day. Sophomore Jake Norman, junior Quinn Dippel, freshman Alex Koca, sophomore Aaron Chalstrom and sophomore Jake Glazer each notched a straight-sets victory to close out the shutout win over Doane.
Creighton is back in action on Sunday for Senior Day against South Dakota State.
