Bluejay Men's Tennis Completes Play In Drake Invite

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Creighton men's tennis team wrapped up competition in the Drake Invite in Des Moines, Iowa Saturday, with Brooks Kendall and Jake Glazer sharing the 'D' singles flight title and Aaron Chalstrom coming away with the 'C' singles consolation title.
Meanwhile, three Bluejay players finished second in their respective singles flights.
Alex Koca, who teamed with Quinn Dippel to win the 'A' doubles flight Friday, finished runner-up in the 'A' singles flight. Harrison Lang and August Nysted also finished runners-up in the 'C' and 'E' singles flights, respectively.
The two-day invitational marked the first fall action of the season for Creighton, and Head Coach Tom Lilly believes that the Bluejays can improve even more upon their solid showing in Des Moines.
"Our guys played a lot of tennis in a short period of time--four doubles and three singles matches in less than 24 hours," Lilly said. "For the most part, we competed and were focused, but came away knowing we can be better in several aspects. We will work on those next week and hope to be better at our home invite."
Creighton will take part in the Omaha Collegiate Invitational next weekend, with play beginning Friday, October 2.
