Women's Basketball Faces Familiar Foe, Northern Iowa, in Second Round Of WNIT

Omaha, Neb. -- Continuing action in the WNIT today, the Creighton women's basketball team faces a familiar foe in Northern Iowa at 5:00 pm.

The Bluejays and the Panthers met in the second game of the season, with UNI claiming a 55-52 win at home on Nov. 28.

Creighton holds a 38-19 series edge on UNI.

Former Missouri Valley Conference foes, Creighton and Northern Iowa have continued to play each season since the Bluejays joined the BIG EAST in 2013-14. Northern Iowa head coach Tanya Warren is one of two players that have her number hanging in Creighton's D.J. Sokol Arena (the other being Connie Yori) and Warren was part of Bluejay head coach Jim Flanery's staff for many years.

Earlier this season the Panthers took the regular season meeting with the Bluejays 55-52 on Nov. 28 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
