Bluejay Men's Soccer NCAA Tournament March Continues at Tulsa on Saturday

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton Men's Soccer team continues its NCAA march as the Bluejays take on Tulsa in the NCAA Sweet 16 on Saturday, November 25 at 6:00 p.m.

Scouting Creighton (11-4-6)
For the second consecutive NCAA Tournament match, the Bluejays scored two goals in the final eight minutes to post victories in the NCAA Tournament.
First Creighton scored twice in the final eight minutes to knock out #23 Missouri State 2-1 in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 17. Against #1 Washington, Duncan McGuire found the back of the net twice in the final eight minutes to best the Huskies in the NCAA Second Round.
The Bluejays' extended their NCAA leading offensive leading to 58 goals with three against Washington. Duncan McGuire guides the Bluejays attack with an NCAA leading 21 goals.
Defensively the Bluejays have allowed just two goals in the last four matches.

Scouting Tulsa (10-4-2)
Despite dropping its last two matches leading into the NCAA Tournament, Tulsa came in as the No. 15 seed in the Tournament. Tulsa opened with a 1-0 win in double overtime over Georgetown.
In 16 matches, the Golden Hurricane have 33 goals and allowed just 16. Junior Alex Meinhard guides the offense with nine goals and five assists (23 points).
Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Lopez has logged 1,210 minutes this season, recording 41 saves.
Eight is More Than Enough for the Bluejays
Proving the pair of goals in the final eight minutes against #23 Missouri State was no fluke, junior Duncan McGuire repeated the feat on his own to deliver an upset of #1 Washington in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Before rallying to defeat #23 Missouri State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, November 17, Creighton Men's Soccer hadn't won a game in regulation when it trailed with 8 minutes left since at least 1991.
Bluejays Have Reached Sweet Sixteen 15 Times, Elite Eight 11 Times
Creighton's match at Tulsa will be the Bluejays' 15th appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16. The other appearances came in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
