Bluejay Women's Basketball Returns Home to Face Wyoming

Omaha, Neb. -- Playing at home for the first time in 25 days, Creighton Women's Basketball hosts Wyoming on Tuesday, December 17 at 6:00 p.m. Staying away from the friendly confines of D.J. Sokol Arena for almost a month isn't a new thing for the Bluejays as Creighton went 25 days between home games during the 2022-23 season and went 27 days during the 2015-16 season.
Scouting Wyoming (5-5)
Wyoming has alternated wins and losses over its last five games, earning its first road win of the season at South Dakota on Sunday (79-45).
The Cowgirls shot an impressive 30-of-55 from the field (54.5%)against the Coyotes and were 14-of-26 (53.8%) from long range. Wyoming closed the win at South Dakota with five players in double figures, including a game-high 17 points from center Allyson Fertig. She is the scoring and rebounding leader for the Cowgirls at 18.0 ppg and 10.9 rpg. Last season against Creighton Fertig closed the game with 30 points and 12 rebounds.
Wyoming is a strong squad defensively as well, limiting the opposition to 39 percent from the field and to just 59.1 ppg.
Scouting Creighton (8-2)
The Bluejays have won seven straight, including six consecutive away from home.
A few differences during the win streak has been a focus on rebounding and defense. The Bluejays have held opponents to 61.7 ppg over the last seven games, shooting just 42 percent. On the glass the Bluejays have out rebounded opponents by just under five per contest during the win streak.
On the season Lauren Jensen and Morgan Maly have guided the offense with 19.9 ppg (Jensen) and 16.6 ppg (Maly).
Mogensen and Heathcock Shine at Green Bay
Senior Molly Mogensen scored 18 points in the first half, shooting 8-of-11 from the field to build a 37-22 lead at the break. Mogensen went on to grab a team-high seven rebounds in the 74-52 win at Green Bay. Freshman Allison Heathcock also
delivered a career-best eight points, knocking down a pair of treys.
Bluejays Stack Up Nationally
Creighton ranks amongst the Top-25 in the NCAA in six categories and 26th in another. The Bluejays top category is Assist-to-Turnover Ratio, sitting in sixth at 1.66.
Individually Lauren Jensen is 37th in scoring at 19.9 ppg.
