OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton women's tennis senior Bianca Rademacher was named BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week for the first time in her Bluejay career, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
The recognition comes as Rademacher posted a perfect 2-0 record at the No. 1 singles position, while guiding the Bluejays to its first win over Drake since 2019 last week.
The Lincoln, Neb. native opened the weekend with a 6-1, 6-0 rout of Drake's Elizabete Klavinska on Saturday, before capturing the Bluejays first point of the match with a 6-3, 6-3 straight-sets win over Idaho's Annabel Davis on Sunday.
Along with posting a 2-0 mark in singles play, Rademacher and Valerie Negin also recorded a perfect 2-0 record at the top doubles spot, earning a 6-3 victory over Elizabete Klavinska and Tess Caldicott in the Bluejays 6-1 win on Saturday, before posting an identical 6-3 victory over Idaho's Lena Beckx and Ida Johansson on Sunday.
With the pair of singles victories, Rademacher improved to 5-0 this spring in singles and now owns an impressive 11-2 mark at the No. 1 singles position dating back to the fall season. Meanwhile, the Rademacher and Negin tandem has now won five consecutive doubles matches, improving to 5-1 at the top doubles spot this season.
Rademacher and the rest of the Bluejays return to action on Friday afternoon when they travel to St. Charles, Mo. to take on Lindenwood.
