NEWARK, N.J.  – The Creighton men's basketball team tied a program-record with its 14th BIG EAST win of the season in a 79-61 victory at Seton Hall on Tuesday night.
The Bluejays (21-9, 14-5 BIG EAST) can set a school-record with its 15th conference win of the season on Saturday against Butler, something that's only been done in Kyle Korvrer's memorable 2002-03 senior season when the Bluejays were a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. Ryan Kalkbrenner led Creighton with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Jackson McAndrew pumped in a career-high 17. They were joined in double-figures by Steven Ashworth, who had 11 points and eight assists, and reserve Fredrick King (12). Creighton shot 62.8 percent for the field in the victory, its best mark in a BIG EAST game this season.
Creighton led nearly the entire first half, pulling away after Seton Hall's Garwey Dual picked up his second foul with 10:51 remaining. The Bluejays immediately went on a 15-5 run that included three-pointers by Ashworth, McAndrew and Jasen Green in addition to a four-point play by Fedor Zugic. CU's margin reached as large as 15 on a pair of occasions before settling for a 35-22 cushion at the break.

CU made 7-of-16 three-pointers and 13-of-26 shots overall while dishing 11 assists on 13 baskets. Seton Hall was led by eight points from Scotty Middleton and held leading scorer Isaiah Coleman to six on 2-of-10 shooting.
Kalkbrenner (7) and Ashworth (6) scored 13 of CU's first 16 points of the second half as the margin exceeded 20 on an Ashworth three-ball to push the Bluejay lead to 51-29 with just over 12 minutes left.
