Sailors and Langrell Selected on Day Two of MLB Draft

Sailors Goes to Royals in Fourth Round, Langrell to Giants in 16th
Omaha, Neb. -- A pair of Bluejays, Nolan Sailors and Garrett Langrell, were selected on the second day of the 2025 MLB Draft on Monday, July 14. Sailors went to the Kansas City Royals in the fourth round with the overall 128th pick. Langrell was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 16th round with the overall 476th pick.
An All-BIG EAST Second Team selection as well as a an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Central All-Region Second Team selection, Sailors led Creighton back to the NCAA Tournament with a team-high .389 average. Sailors started each of Creighton's 59 contests this season, delivering 18 doubles, six home runs, 27 stolen bases (27-of-30) and 44 RBI. Sailors is the highest draft pick since Alan Roden went in third round of the 2022 Draft with the 98th overall selection.
An National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) Second Team All-America selection, Langrell closed his impressive 2025 campaign with 13 saves and a 7-2 record. The Creighton stopper made 26 appearances, tossing 52.1 innings with 57 strikeouts and just 11 walks and a 3.61 ERA.Â
The last time the Bluejays had a player selected by the Royals was Michael Emodi in 2018 (11th round, pick 332) and before that Nicky Lopez in 2016 (fifth round, pick 163). The last time a Creighton player was selected by the Giants was Ty Blach in 2012 (fifth round, pick 178).
