Fitzgerald and Roden Called Up to Minnesota Twins

Omaha, Neb. -- Former Bluejays Ryan Fitzgerald (2013-16) and Alan Roden (2019-22) each earned a call up to the Minnesota Twins on Friday, August 1 as the Twins restocked its Major League roster following the 2025 Trade Deadline.
For Fitzgerald it is his second MLB call up, he went 0-for-3 with a run scored in a pair of appearances. Ryan's path to the big leagues has been a circuitous journey. Signing to play independent ball after graduation in 2017, then earning a spot in the Boston Red Sox organization. He played for Greenville (A) in 2018, then Salem (A+) in 2019.
When baseball returned in 2021, Fitzgerald split time with Portland (AA) and Worcester (AAA), playing the entire 2022 and 2023 seasons at the AAA level for the Red Sox. Ryan returned to Omaha as he played for the Kansas City Royals AAA team the Omaha Storm Chasers in 2024. This season Fitzgerald signed to play in the Minnesota Twins organization, playing for the St. Paul Saints (AAA) and making his MLB debut on May 16.
Drafted in the third round of the 2022 MLB Draft, Roden worked his way through the Toronto Blue Jays organization over the last three seasons to earn a spot on the MLB squad to open the 2025 season. Roden played for Dunedin (A) in 2022, Vancouver (A+) and New Hampshire (AA) in 2023 and with both New Hampshire and Buffalo (AAA) last season. In two trips to the Toronto Blue Jays roster this season, Roden went 20-for-98 (.204) with five doubles, one home run and eight RBI. Roden was part of a trade on July 31 that sent him to Minnesota.
