This Week
Creighton (13-9, 8-2 BIG EAST) continues its quest for a BIG EAST regular-season title with road matches against two of the teams who may provide the biggest obstacle to a 13th straight crown.
The Bluejays visit league-leading Marquette (14-6, 9-1 BIG EAST) on Thursday at 6 p.m. in a battle of two teams that have dominated the league in the past dozen years. The battle will take place in Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee, Wis.
On Friday, the Bluejays visits upstart DePaul (16-5, 8-2 BIG EAST), which has been building towards this moment as it seeks to improve its case for an NCAA Tournament bid. That contest will start at 7 p.m., inside McGrath-Phillips Arena in Chicago, Ill.

Scouting Creighton
Creighton is 13-9 on the season against the nation's 22nd-toughest schedule and are in the hunt for the BIG EAST title with an 8-2 league mark.
The Jays own a pair of wins over Top 25 teams, and the 12-time defending BIG EAST regular-season champions have won 55 of their past 57 league contests.
Six Bluejays average at least 1.35 kills per set, with Trinity Shadd-Ceres (2.43 kps.), Ayden Ames (2.41 kps.) and Abbey Hayes (2.26 kps.) leading the way.
Katie Dalton (8.44 aps.) quarterbacks the offense, which is hitting a league-best .297 in BIG EAST play. Dalton is the reigning BIG EAST Setter of the Week.
Libero Saige Damrow (4.31 dps.) ranks third in the BIG EAST in digs per set, and Eloise Brandewie (1.22 bps.) tops a strong blocking unit while also ranking second in the BIG EAST with a .385 hitting percentage in conference play.
As a team, Creighton averages 12.66 kills, 14.37 digs, 2.48 blocks and 1.49 aces per set on .218 hitting.
Scouting Marquette
Marquette is 14-6 on the season and atop the BIG EAST standings with a 9-1 league record. The Golden Eagles have yet to be swept, losing in five sets to Texas, DePaul and Illinois as well as in four frames at Dayton, Stanford and Wisconsin, and are a perfect 7-0 inside Al McGuire Center this fall.
Ball State transfer Carson Tyler averages 4.38 kills, 2.30 digs and 0.61 aces per set on .273 hitting and is the frontrunner for BIG EAST Player of the Year honors at this point. Other key cogs on offense are Emma Parks (1.98 kps.), Tani Juric (2.47 kps.) and Caydence Doolan (2.19 kps.).
Molly Welge (1.20 bps.) is a top blocker and Luanna Markus (9.88 aps.) leads the BIG EAST in assists per set.
The Golden Eagles average 12.67 kills, 13.13 digs, 2.16 blocks and 1.59 aces per set on .244 hitting.
Series History vs. Marquette
Creighton is 32-8 all-time against Marquette, and are 28-5 since the start of the 2014 season against MU. The Golden Eagles survived four CU match points on October 4th to snap the Bluejays' league-record 50-match win streak in BIG EAST play.
Creighton is 32-2 all-time against the Golden Eagles when winning at least one set and 8-1 in five-set matches against their biggest league rival.
Brian Rosen is 3-1 against both Marquette, and Tom Mendoza. Mendoza is 1-3 against Creighton.Â
Scouting DePaul
DePaul is 16-5 this season and tied with Creighton for second in the BIG EAST with an 8-2 league record. The Blue Demons have won four straight matches entering Friday.
Kendall Timme (3.56 kps.), Isabela Tavares-Salomon (3.09 kps.), Jade Epps (2.40 kps., .321%) and Martina Diana (2.16 kps.) carry much of the offensive load, with Leonor Polezzi (8.90 aps.) directing the offense.
As a program, the Blue Demons average 12.71 kills, 13.35 digs, 1.94 blocks and 1.68 aces per set on .232 hitting.
Series History vs. DePaul
Creighton has won 30 of 31 previous meetings with DePaul, and is 30-0 vs. the Blue Demons since the two schools became BIG EAST rivals.
DePaul swept the first meeting in 2001 in DeKalb, Ill., before Creighton's recent run, which has included three five-set wins (in Omaha in 2015, spring 2021 and 2022), nine different four-set wins and 18 sweeps.Â
Creighton has won 71 of its past 79 sets played against the Blue Demons.
Creighton's active 30-match win streak over DePaul is the program's longest ever against another foe.
Brian Rosen is 3-0 against DePaul and Marie Zidek. Zidek is 0-20 against Creighton.
Creighton Coaches
Brian Rosen is in his second season as Creighton head coach, where his 41-15 record with the Bluejays moves his career mark to 86-32 after four seasons. He is 26-2 all-time against BIG EAST teams, winning 82-of-96 sets.
Rosen was named the fourth head coach in modern Creighton Volleyball history on April 6, 2025, as he was promoted following the departure of 22-year head coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth. He became the BIG EAST's first rookie head coach since 2014 to win 20+ matches in his first year in the league, the only rookie head coach in league history to win multiple NCAA Tournament matches, and the first new coach to win 28+ matches in his first season.
Named the 2024 AVCA National Assistant Coach of the Year, Rosen served as a Creighton assistant from 2022-24, during which time CU went 88-13, swept the BIG EAST regular-season and tournament tiles each fall, and defeated 10 Top 25 opponents.
Rosen led Creighton to the BIG EAST regular-season and Tournament titles in 2025 and a return to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
The 2008 South Carolina grad went 45-17 as head coach at Division II Nova Southeastern from 2019-21, though the 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID-19 without playing a match.
Rosen is assisted by Angie Oxley Behrens, Adam Kessenich and Izzy Ashburn.
With A Win...
With a win on Thursday, Creighton would...
- Move into a tie for first in the BIG EAST Conference standings, which would allow CU to control its destiny in its quest for a 13th straight league title.
- Improve to 33-8 all-time against Marquette, and 13-4 in Milwaukee against the Golden Eagles.
- Improve to 213-18 all-time in regular-season BIG EAST matches.
- Improve to 236-20 against BIG EAST opponents (including conference tournament action) since joining the league in 2013.
- Earn its senior class with its 103rd victory (in 126 matches) since the start of the 2023 season.
- Improve to 62-2 in its last 64 matches against BIG EAST teams at all sites.
- Win its seventh straight match inside Al McGuire Center, and fourth in a row over Marquette at "The Al".
- Hand Marquette its first home loss of the season, snapping a seven-match home win streak for the Golden Eagles dating to CU's 3-0 win over MU in the 2025 BIG EAST Tournament semifinals.
- Avoid losing three conference matches in the same season for the first time since 2013.
- Avoid losing twice to the same team in the same season for the first time since 2014.
- Tie a season-high with a third straight victory.
Milestone WatchÂ
Ayden Ames owns 94 career digs (39 at CU) and is six away from 100.
Sydney Breissinger has 1,075 career digs, putting her just 25 away from 1,100.
Katie Dalton owns 96 career kills (46 at CU) and is four shy of 100.
Saige Damrow has 784 career digs (657 at CU) as she chases the 800 dig milestone.
Abbey Hayes owns 295 digs, five short of 300.
Nora Wurtz has 85 career kills and is 15 shy of 100.
You've Been Served
How important is the ace battle?Â
All but one of Creighton's last 33 regular-season BIG EAST matches have been won by the team with more aces.Â
The only exception came last Friday vs. Providence when both teams tied for the same number of aces.
The last time Creighton met Marquette, the Bluejays had five aces and 15 service errors compared to Marquette's 11 aces and seven service miscues.
The Cleaner, The Better
Creighton has been plagued by errors in its two BIG EAST losses thus far.
The Bluejays had 30 attack errors and 19 service errors in its Oct. 18 loss at Georgetown. That came after 19 attack errors and 15 service errors in its Oct. 4 loss to Marquette. Despite those miscues, the Jays still had multiple match point opportunities in both contests.
By comparison, CU had only 22 attack errors and 12 service errors combined in matches last week against Connecticut and Providence.
Saving Our Best For Last
Creighton trailed 20-19, 24-23 and 25-24 in the first set against Providence on Friday before ultimately prevailing, 30-28.
It was the fifth time this season Creighton has won a set when its opponent reached 20 points first, exceeding last year when it happened just four times.
It was also the first time all season that CU won a set in which is survived an opponents set point, something it also did four times a year ago.
CU also improved to 9-11 this fall in sets decided by exactly two points and 3-8 in sets that go beyond 25 points (or 15 in the fifth set).
TSC Must Be In The Front Row!
Trinity Shadd-Ceres went seven straight matches without starting in the front row while battling injury, but she returned with a vengeance last week.
Shadd-Ceres had 10 kills against UConn, then hit .344 and pounded a match-high 14 kills vs. Providence a day later.
Take out the seven matches from Sept. 26-Oct. 17 where Shadd-Ceres played the majority of the match in the back row and her averages would climb from 2.43 to 3.36 kills per set.
Demons Feeling Blue
Creighton has won 30 straight matches against DePaul, its longest streak in program history over another foe.
The Blue Demons are one of four BIG EAST programs that Creighton owns an active win streak of 19 or longer against.

You Again?
Creighton and Marquette ought to be quite familiar with each other by this point.Â
Thursday will mark the 19th meeting between the schools since February 4, 2021, and that doesn't include two other matches that were cancelled due to COVID protocols. Creighton has won 14 of those 18 recent contests.
Thursday will also be the 27th meeting since Oct. 17, 2017 between the BIG EAST behemoths. CU is 21-5 in those previous 26 encounters.
The Booth Tree
Both Brian Rosen and Tom Mendoza are disciples of the Kirsten Bernthal Booth coaching tree as both men are former Creighton assistant coaches.
Rosen served as a Bluejay assistant coach from 2022-24, a span that saw the Bluejays go 88-13. Creighton won the BIG EAST regular-season and Tournament titles, as well as made the NCAA Tournament, all three seasons.
Mendoza was an assistant at CU from 2010-15, during which time the Bluejays went 142-57 and made five NCAA Tournaments (2010, '12, '13, '14, '15). Creighton won the regular-season and conference tournament titles in 2012 in the Missouri Valley Conference and in 2014 and 2015 in the BIG EAST Conference.
Badger State Ballers
Whether it be Kiana Schmitt (Waunakee), Kiara Reinhardt (Cedarburg) or Kelli Browning (Waukesha), Creighton Volleyball has long thrived on getting some of the best players out of the state of Wisconsin.
This year's team is no different, as libero Saige Damrow (Howards Grove) and outside hitter/defensive specialist Peyton Carlson (Waupaca) are both from America's Dairyland.
CU also has three women in its program with ties to the University of Wisconsin program. Damrow and Trinity Shadd-Ceres both played for the Badgers, as did assistant coach Izzy Ashburn.
Home In The Al
Since being swept by Marquette in 2022 and 2023, Creighton has won 18 of its last 19 sets it has played inside Al McGuire Center. That includes nine set victories in a row against the Golden Eagles.

#BIG EAST Tournament
Split The Difference
Since joining the BIG EAST Conference in 2013, the only league team to beat Creighton twice in the same regular-season was Seton Hall in 2014.
Creighton lost its first match-up against Marquette this season and will look to avoid it happening again.
12 Straight BIG EAST Regular-Season Titles
Creighton (2014-25) is the first team in BIG EAST volleyball history to win 12 straight regular-season titles. The previous record had been seven by Notre Dame from 1999-2005.
The Bluejay volleyball team is also the first Creighton program in any sport to win more than five straight league titles, more than doubling the previous high of five in a row by the men's soccer program (1992-96) in the MVC.
The only other volleyball team nationally with an active streak of more than six straight regular-season league titles is Kentucky, which won its ninth consecutive SEC crown last year.
Creighton's 12 straight regular-season titles rank third-longest in NCAA history, trailing only Florida's 18 straight SEC titles from 1991-2008 and Hawaii's 16 consecutive WAC crowns from 1996-2011.
Ames Aims Higher
Ayden Ames is having a breakthrough season offensively. After owning just two matches of 10 or more kills as a starter at Texas from 2024-25, Ames has turned it up a notch with Creighton.
Ames has delivered 10 or more kills in 11 matches this season, including eight of her past 12 contests.Â
She's done that despite moving from middle blocker to outside hitter, a position the junior had not played since high school, and back.

Seniors Reach 100 Wins
Creighton's fourth-year seniors Sydney Breissinger, Jaya Johnson and Ava TeStrake own 102 victories in a Bluejay uniform.
The trio is 102-23 since arriving in 2023, becoming the eighth senior class to win 100 matches in a four-year span. Against BIG EAST foes, the trio are 33-1 in home matches and have dropped just nine sets.

The Race Back To Sokol
D.J. Sokol Arena will host the BIG EAST Tournament in late November, and it's shaping up to be quite a race to be in the four-team field for the nation's No. 5-ranked league.
Six teams are between 5-5 and 9-1 in the standings with three weeks left.
Both Creighton and Marquette have been in the BIG EAST Tournament field all previous 13 seasons since the league's 2013 reconfiguration.Â
Also at stake? The best seed not named Creighton will be in line to host the 2027 BIG EAST Tournament since league rules prevent the same team from hosting in consecutive seasons.
Damrow Keeps Digging
Saige Damrow owns 20 or more digs in nine different matches this year, the most by a Bluejay in one season since Brittany Witt in 2009.
No one has done it 10 times in the same season since Kate Elman had 15 such contests in 2012.

Ashlyn Paymal had nine kills her entire freshman season but continues to flourish as her playing time grows in 2026.
Paymal had career-highs with eight kills and seven blocks on Oct. 2 against DePaul.
She more than doubled that offensive output on Oct. 4 against Marquette, finishing with 18 kills while hitting a career-high .562 in 32 errorless-swings. It was the second-most kills by a player in Creighton history without an error.

Doesn't Happen Often
Creighton doesn't lose many BIG EAST matches, and when they do, it generally means bad things for upcoming opponents.
The Bluejays are 18-0 all-time coming off a regular-season BIG EAST loss and have not lost consecutive matches in league play since dropping three Missouri Valley Conference matches in a row in 2011.
Seven of the previous 17 times that Creighton Volleyball has lost a BIG EAST match, the Bluejays embarked on a league win streak of 11 or more.

Getting Better and Better
It's scary to see the numbers for Creighton's BIG EAST matches compared to its 12 non-conference matches. The Bluejay numbers are up across the board on the offensive end.
Creighton was last in the BIG EAST in hitting percentage (.162) entering league play, but currently is first in conference action (.297).

Home Sweet Home
Creighton is in its 14th season as a member of the BIG EAST since joining the league in the summer of 2013.
Since then, the Bluejays are 125-5 in home matches against BIG EAST teams (114-4 in the regular-season, 11-1 in the BIG EAST Tournament).
Since the start of the 2015 season, Creighton is 109-2 inside D.J. Sokol Arena against BIG EAST teams, which includes a 99-2 mark in league play and a 10-0 mark in the conference tournament.
Put another way, since enrolling at Creighton in the fall of 2023, fourth-year Bluejay seniors Sydney Breissinger, Jaya Johnson and Ava TeStrake are 33-1 in home matches against BIG EAST teams, and 101-9 in sets.
BIG EAST'S Best
Since the reconfiguration of the BIG EAST in the summer of 2013, Creighton, Marquette and St. John's are the only teams to win any sort of BIG EAST volleyball title.
Creighton owns 12 regular-season titles (3 shared) in that time, while Marquette owns four regular-season (3 shared) crowns.
As it relates to BIG EAST Tournament titles, Creighton has won 11, Marquette one and St. John's one since 2013.

Against The BIG EAST
Since the BIG EAST was restructured in 2013, Creighton owns a winning percentage better than .800 against each of the other teams currently in the BIG EAST.
The Bluejays own 235 wins against BIG EAST competition (including BIG EAST Championship play) since 2013, 38 more wins than Marquette for most in the league.
CU still has not lost to two league foes (DePaul, Providence) since joining the BIG EAST, and Marquette (7), Villanova (3), Seton Hall (3) and St. John's (3) are the only BIG EAST programs to top the Bluejays multiple times since 2013.Â

Early Losses Have RewardsÂ
Creighton is 13-9 on the young season and finished non-conference play 5-7, but past history has shown that's actually a good omen for future success.Â
Last year's team started 5-5, including a loss to No. 1 Nebraska in the 10th match, before closing out non-conference play with two home matches, including a nationally-ranked foe on a Sunday (No. 17 Kansas). That team went from 5-5 to 28-6 thanks to a 23-match win streak that eventually saw CU return to the Elite Eight.Â
Before last fall, the last previous time that Creighton lost five or more non-conference matches was in 2016, when the Jays were 6-6 before winning 23 matches in a row en route to an Elite Eight trip. In 2015, Creighton started 5-7 in non-conference play before winning 22 of its next 23 matches. That season ended with CU's first trip to the Sweet 16.Â
Defense!
Creighton's defense continues to thrive, holding foes to .178 hitting this fall.
That includes holding Northern Iowa to its lowest hitting percentage (.000) since at least 2006, and No. 1 Nebraska to a season-low .202 after the Huskers entered the match hitting .330 for the year.
CU also held Louisville to .256 hitting, snapping the Cardinals six-match streak of .300 hitting or better.
A St. John's team that hadn't hit below .150 all year hit just .102 against Creighton on Sept. 26.
Creighton has held 118 straight opponents under the .300 mark.
Creighton has led the country in opponents hitting percentage in two of the previous five seasons, doing so in both 2021 (.124) and 2024 (.130). This year's team currently ranks 44th, a vast improvement over where it ranked (125th) after non-conference play ended on Sept. 20th when foes were hitting .193.
Pink Out Jersey Auction Raises $8,003
The Creighton Volleyball team hosted its 19th Annual Pink Out match on Thursday, October 22nd, using the competition as an opportunity to benefit the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge Nebraska.
This year's Pink Out jersey auction brought in $8,003.50, plus an additional $881 on matchday via donations.Â
The winning bidders had the opportunity to honor a friend or family member who has battled cancer or is currently battling cancer. The warm-up shirt to be worn could be personalized by the winning bidder.
Shortly after the match, the family members of the winning bidders had the opportunity to meet the student-athletes of the jersey they bid on.
The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Nebraska provides a free home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers who must travel to Omaha to receive their lifesaving treatment.
Entering the 2026-27 school year, Creighton has raised $1,190,303.50 in its annual Pink Outs since 2010 across all sports.

Creighton was one of eight teams in the country that did not lose a regular-season conference match last fall. Of those teams, Creighton's four league sets lost trailed only Nebraska (1).
Brian Rosen was the only one of the eight head coaches who had an undefeated conference slate to not win Coach of the Year honors in his/her league, and Rosen was 3-2 against the other teams on this list.

The Streak Ends
Creighton had won 50 straight BIG EAST regular-season matches to establish a program and league record before it was snapped on Oct. 4 vs. Marquette.
It broke the record for the longest streak in BIG EAST history, surpassing the 45 in a row done from Oct. 1, 1999 to Nov. 15, 2002 by Notre Dame.

League Openers
Creighton is 25-8 all-time in conference openers, and 2-0 under Brian Rosen. That includes a 13-1 mark in BIG EAST lid-lifters, with 13 straight wins.
Each of the previous 13 times that Creighton won its league opener (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025), the Bluejays went on to win the regular-season title, going a combined 211-13 (before 2026) in regular-season league action. Creighton also won 12 conference tournament titles during those years, going 24-1 at the league tournament in those seasons.
In the 23 previous seasons that Creighton has won its conference opener, it has never finished worse than .500 in league play and it owns a combined .798 (340-86) winning percentage in league matches entering 2026.
In the eight years in which Creighton lost its league opener, the Bluejays have had a losing record on five occasions and owns a combined .363 (53-93) winning percentage during league contests.
In conference home openers, Creighton is 27-5 overall with 15 straight wins.
In league road openers, Creighton is 24-9 overall with 13 straight wins.
The last team to win a BIG EAST regular-season or tournament title without winning its regular-season opener in conference play was Cincinnati in the fall of 2008, which will continue beyond 2025. If that holds true again, only Creighton, Butler, DePaul, Marquette, St. John's and Xavier still have hope.
A Closer LookÂ
Though Creighton went 5-7 prior to BIG EAST play, keep in mind that every team on its non-conference schedule finished with a top 45 RPI last season, and the Jays beat three teams that closed last fall in the Top 25.

It's Unanimous
Despite the graduation of All-Americans Ava Martin, Annalea Maeder and Kiara Reinhardt, Creighton was the unanimous pick to win the BIG EAST in a preseason poll of league coaches.
Abbey Hayes, Jaya Johnson and Ayden Ames were all named Preseason All-BIG EAST.
This is the sixth time since 2015 and third year in a row that the Jays have been voted a unanimous favorite to win the BIG EAST.
Creighton has previously been a unanimous favorite in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2024 and 2025 and gone a combined 85-3 in league action in those previous five seasons while sweeping the regular-season and conference titles on each occasion.
29 Kills For Shadd-CeresÂ
Trinity Shadd-Ceres became the sixth different player in Creighton Volleyball history with 29 or more kills in a match when she did it on Sept. 4 against Arizona. Of those women, Shadd-Ceres' .420 hitting percentage was the second-best mark. Her 29 kills tied a Bluejay Invitational single-match record and were one shy of the D.J. Sokol Arena record.Â

Top 25 Streak Ends
Creighton's school-record streak of 83 straight weeks as a Top 25 team was snapped when the Jays were listed 30th among those "also receiving votes" in the Sept. 28 poll. The drop came after CU had been 25th on Sept. 21st, then went 2-0 with road wins at Seton Hall and St. John's.
Creighton has been ranked 160 weeks in program history, all since 2012. Thirty-seven of those weeks the Jays have been in the Top 10.
Creighton's 83 weeks in a row being ranked began on Sept. 6, 2021 was a program record, breaking the previous-high of 64 from Oct. 31, 2016 to March 15, 2021.Â
Ames Made BIG EAST History in First WeekÂ
Ayden Ames was named BIG EAST Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 31 after helping the Bluejays to a pair of Top 25 wins to open the season. Ames is the first player in BIG EAST history, as well as Creighton Volleyball history, to be named both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week in the same week by the league office.Â
Ames hit .305 and averaged 1.92 kills, 1.17 blocks and 0.25 digs during her initial week as a Bluejay. The junior from Prosper, Texas, had seven kills and set a Creighton record for most blocks in a debut with seven stuffs in a 3-2 win vs. No. 9 Purdue.Â
Golden GirlÂ
Creighton junior Ayden Ames spent the summer winning a second straight Pan American Cup Gold Medal with USA Volleyball's U21 team and starting three of the team's five matches, including the final. Ames had 18 kills in 35 swings and hit .400 in the four matches she appeared in.Â
Production Returns
Creighton returns 9-of-17 letterwinners to the court from last season, including three starters.
From last year's team, Ava Martin, Kiara Reinhardt, Annalea Maeder, Sky McCune, Alivia Hausmann, Sophia Wendlick, Destiny Ndam-Simpson and Emersen Strain are not back.
All told, of the seven categories listed below, Creighton returns 316.2 of a possible 700% back (45.2 percent), the third-smallest amount returning in the past 25 seasons behind only 2009 and 2025.
Below is a breakdown of the production that is back:

Creighton is one of nine schools to appear in the Sweet 16 in each of the last three NCAA Tournaments (2023-25), joining Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Stanford, Texas and Wisconsin.Â
Creighton is one of five schools to be in the Elite Eight in both 2024 and 2025, a list that features Creighton, Kentucky, Nebraska, Pittsburgh and Wisconsin.
Creighton has won a First Round match in the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three seasons (2023-25). Nationally, only 20 schools have done that: Arizona State, Baylor, Creighton, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Marquette, Miami (Fla.), Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, SMU, Stanford, TCU, Texas, USC and Wisconsin.
How Sweet It Is
Creighton has made five Sweet 16s, all of which have come in the 11 seasons from 2015-25. Creighton is one of 46 schools to have made a Sweet 16 since 2015, but only 16 of those teams have been there five times or more in that span.

How Elite Are We?Â
Creighton and UCLA are the nation's only schools to reach the Elite Eight in women's volleyball (2024 and 2025), women's basketball (2021), men's basketball (2022) and men's soccer (2022) since the start of the 2021-22 academic year. Creighton, UCLA and Kentucky are the nation's only schools to reach the Sweet 16 in those same sports since the start of the 2021-22 academic year.Â
Replacing Three AVCA All-Americans
Creighton Volleyball had three seniors earn All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association last season, as Ava Martin and Kiara Reinhardt picked up Second Team honors, and Annalea Maeder was a Third Team choice.
Creighton's three honorees were tied for fifth-most in the nation, trailing only the four women chosen from Kentucky, Nebraska, SMU and Texas A&M.
Last year marked the 14th straight season that Creighton has had at least one All-American, with multiple All-Americans in 10 of the previous 11 campaigns. The only schools with multiple All-Americans each of the past five years are now Creighton, Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Stanford and Wisconsin.Â
Both Martin and Reinhardt were selected in the Major League Volleyball Draft on Nov. 24, 2025. Martin was the second overall section by the Atlanta Vibe, while Reinhardt was selected No. 8 overall in the first round by the Omaha Supernovas. The selections made Creighton the first school in league history to have two picks in the First Round of the same draft.
This is the second straight season the Jays have had to replace three or more All-Americans, as the 2025 Creighton squad that reached the Elite Eight had to replace Kendra Wait, Norah Sis, Maddy Bilinovic and Elise Goetzinger from its 2024 team that also made the Elite Eight.
Survival of the Fittest
Since the move to rally scoring in 2001, Creighton has won 10 matches when surviving a match point and lost six contests when holding a match point of its own.
