About Georgetown
Scouting Georgetown (12-10, 5-8 BE)
Heading into their second contest with the Bluejays this season, the Hoyas look to bounce back from back-to-back home losses.
After falling 58-52 to Seton Hall on Jan. 29, Georgetown most recently fell to Marquette, 67-59.Â
The first and third quarters nailed the coffin closed for the Hoyas. Marquette outscored the home team 16-8 in the first and — after Georgetown closed the gap to a feasible 31-27 deficit at halftime — followed it up out of the break with a 21-12 margin in the third quarter.
Georgetown forced 23 turnovers for 19 points by the end of the game, but 37.7% shooting from the field compared to Marquette's collective 54.3% shooting performance wasn't enough to give the Hoyas the edge.
All three of Georgetown's lead scorers against Marquette surpassed their points per game average this season. Khadee Hession (5.9 ppg) fronted Georgetown's offense with 20 points, while Destiny Agubata (8.3 ppg) recorded 11 points and Summer Davis (6.4 ppg) posted 10.Â
Khia Miller, who recorded just three points against the Golden Eagles, leads scorers cumulatively this season with an average of 10.9 points per game.
Scouting Creighton 10-12, 6-7 BIG EAST)
Heading into a home contest with Georgetown, the Bluejays are on a two-game win streak, the first time Creighton has stacked wins since two victories over Omaha and DePaul in late December.Â
Most recently, four days after a 30-point victory margin over St. John's, Creighton staved off Seton Hall 72-66 in a battle to the finish.Â
After retaining a slight edge 45-39 at halftime, Creighton's margin for error decreased, with close-scoring quarters defining the rest of the game. In the end, the Bluejays' halftime lead helped them fight to finish the game with a six-point victory.
Four Bluejays ended the game in double-figures, including Allison Heathcock, who recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Neleigh Gessert led the team with 16 points, while Kennedy Townsend (14 points) and Kendall McGee (10 points) rounded out the scorers with 10-plus points.Â
Creighton shot a combined 42.6% from the field, gaining a slight 44-39 edge in rebounding on the other side of the floor.

Recap of First Meeting: 12-28-25
Georgetown 76, Creighton 74
Trailing 66-47 early in the fourth quarter, Creighton Women's Basketball had the ball with a chance to win the game in the final seconds before falling to Georgetown 76-74.
The comeback began with eight straight points as Neleigh Gessert sank a pair from the charity stripe, then senior Kennedy Townsend hit back-to-back treys in the span of 13 seconds to bring Creighton within 11 at 60-49 (8:14). The Bluejays chipped away throughout the next six minutes, but trailed 74-66 with just over two minutes left.Â
Townsend and Gessert answered the call with consecutive treys to make it 74-72 with 34 seconds left. The Hoyas hit one of two at the line, then Townsend scored on a driving layup to bring Creighton within a point at 75-74 with 12 seconds on the clock. After another 1-of-2 from the foul line by Georgetown, Creighton head coach Jim Flanery used his final timeout to advance the ball with eight seconds remaining. Creighton's play found Townsend at the top of the key, but her shot came up short. Freshman Kendall McGee grabbed the rebound, appearing to be fouled as she elevated, but no whistle sounded as the game came to a close.

Averaging 32.1 minutes on the floor per game, Gessert combined to shoot 42.9 percent from the field against St. John's and Seton Hall going 12-of-28.
