OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton University Associate Athletic Director for Development Andre Streete announced one promotion and one addition to his staff on Monday. Brian Hanna has been promoted to Director of Development, while Julia Mischke joins CU's Athletic Development staff as the Assistant Director of Annual Giving.
Hanna is in his fourth year at Creighton after previously serving as the Assistant Director of Athletic Development. He plays an integral role in raising funds to help navigate the changing landscape of college athletics. In his new role he will continue his focus on fundraising initiatives in support of Creighton Athletics while expanding engagement efforts with alumni, donors and supporters of the Bluejays. An Omaha native, Hanna graduated from Creighton in May 2022 and earned his MBA from Creighton last week.
"Brian Hanna is Creighton through and through, and his impact in just a few years has been integral to our success as a department," said Streete. "His ability to build relationships with alumni, donors, and friends of Creighton has been impressive. Brian was a manager for Coach Greg McDermott during the four years he was a student at Creighton before stepping into his initial role in December 2022. He has continued to exceed expectations to be very deserving of this promotion and I'm excited for Brian to take it to the next level. The pressures of college athletics fundraising continue to rise, and I believe Brian can live up to those expectations and make a long-lasting impact on Creighton University and the Omaha Community!"
Mischke joins the athletic development staff after a stint at Murray State. In her role at Murray State, she worked primarily for development, as well as supporting the ticket office with season ticket sales and helping with athletic events. Prior to Murray State, Mischke worked in the athletic department at the University of Kansas athletic department while completing her undergraduate studies. She graduated from KU in December 2024.
As the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, Mischke will focus on annual giving and the expansion of the Bluejay Excellence Fund, focusing on increasing annual support for Creighton Athletics. This includes assistance with sport-specific program funds, Jaybackers and season ticket holders across all sports at Creighton University. She is a native of Erie, Colorado.
"I'm excited to welcome Julia to our team," said Streete. "I've been able to build a relationship with Julia over the past 8-9 months before extending her a job offer, and I believe she has what it takes to make a real impact on Creighton Athletics, our mission, and the community. I'm looking forward to watching her grow into her new role, and for our supporters to meet her."
