- Oltman made 13 relief appearances for the Bluejays.
 - He opened the season by tossing a scoreless inning and striking out two against CSU Bakersfield on Feb. 14.
 - John faced three batters and recorded two outs during Creighton’s 3-2 victory over Stetson on March 28.
 
2014 (Sophomore at Creighton)
- John built on his solid effort as a freshman by tying for the team high with 31 relief appearances in 2014.
 - Oltman posted a 2.92 ERA in 24.2 innings overall.
 - John held the opposition scoreless in 24 of his 31 outings.
 - Oltman tossed back-to-back 1.1 scoreless inning efforts against Minnesota (Feb. 23) and at Charlotte (March 1).
 - John posted a string of seven straight appearances without allowing a run (Feb. 23 - March 19), spanning eight innings.
 - He nailed down his first save as a Bluejay, getting the final two outs against Kansas State on March 28.
 - He extended his scoreless streak in BIG EAST play to 5.1 innings over five appearances with four outs against Seton Hall (May 2-4) and 1.1 innings of scoreless ball at St. John’s in the Bluejays’ 15-5 win on May 11.

- Oltman appeared in five games as a freshman.
 - John surrendered one run in one-third of an inning against BYU in his first trip to the mound as a Bluejay on March 1.
 - He tossed a scoreless inning of relief on March 12 in Creighton’s 17-2 win at Southeast Missouri State.
 - John struck out both batters he faced against Kansas State on April 30.

- Oltman used his redshirt option during the 2012 season.
 
2008-11 (Beatrice High School)
- John played baseball and football for the Beatrice Orangemen, earning varsity letters in baseball his sophomore through senior seasons and varsity football letters his junior and senior seasons.
 - He led the Orangemen to a Class B fifth-place finish in state his senior season, finishing with a 15-5 overall record.
 - Earned Omaha World-Herald first-team All-State and All-River Cities Conference accolades following his senior season, while also being named Lincoln Journal Star second-team Super State and all-Nebraska that season.
 - Finished his junior season with All-State and River Cities Conference Honorable Mention accolades after finishing with a 9-11 overall record.
 - Oltman also played for the Beatrice Eagles Juniors from 2008-2010, leading the team to the Class B American Legion Juniors State Title in 2009 and 2010.
