Maddie was called upon three times during her first season with Creighton ... She started all three appearances, logging a combined 270 minutes in goal ... Merrick allowed six goals and collected 14 saves, including a season-high six in her collegiate debut at UConn on Sept. 21 ... Maddie also recorded five saves in the season finale at Butler (Oct. 26) and three saves against No. 17 Georgetown (Sept. 24) ... BIG EAST All-Academic Team Honoree.
Legend High School & Club:
A goalkeeper from Legend High School, Merrick earned three varsity letters while with the Titans ... As a junior, Maddie led the Titans to a 14-3 overall record, including 13 shutouts, on the way to an appearance in the Colorado Class 5A state tournament ... Maddie also played club soccer for the ECNL Colorado Rapids ... She was named the MVP at the Colorado Presidents Cup while playing with the Colorado Rush ... Outside of soccer, Merrick excelled in the classroom earning Academic All-State honors and a spot on National Honor Society ... She also had a lot of success on the basketball court and in the swimming pool.
