
Men's Tennis Faces In-State Opponents Nebraska and Nebraska-Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. — The Creighton men's tennis team will be back in action this weekend as it travels to Lincoln, Neb. to face Nebraska on Saturday, Feb. 27 before facing crosstown opponent Nebraska-Omaha on Sunday, Feb. 28 in Omaha.
Saturday's match will begin at 6:00 p.m., while Sunday's contest against the Mavericks will start at 5:00 p.m.

GETTING UP TO SPEED
The Bluejays (1-4) have been out of action since Jan. 29 when Creighton suffered a tough, 5-2 loss to Illinois State. The Bluejays opened the match with a win at No. 1 Doubles and picked up opening-set victories in three of the six singles matchups, but the Redbirds came from behind to secure the 5-2 victory.
Quinn Dippel and Alex Koca gave Creighton an early advantage with a 6-2 win at No. 1 Doubles, and Nick Thompson and Aaron Chalstrom helped the Bluejays pick up the doubles point with a 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot.
Dippel, Chalstrom and Harrison Lang each picked up first set wins in singles, but Illinois State fought back at No. 1 and No. 4 Singles to defeat Dippel and Chalstrom, while Lang picked up the lone singles victory for the Bluejays at No. 3, 7-6, 6-7, 7-6.
SCOUTING NEBRASKA
Nebraska earned a 6-1 victory over New Mexico State last weekend and dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 67 Wichita State.
The Huskers (4-3) are 4-0 against unranked opponents this season.
Dusty and Toby Boyer lead Nebraska at No. 1 Doubles and boast an unblemished spring record of 6-0. The team of brothers claimed the Big Ten Indoor Doubles Championship during the fall season.
Freshman Toby Boyer leads the Huskers with six victories at No. 3 Singles.
Saturday's match will take place at the Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Mavericks (3-6) opened the season 3-1, but have dropped their last five matches, including four consecutive clean sweeps.
John Ellis and Alex Woodard each have three singles victories to lead Nebraska-Omaha, and Colin Buckley and Ignace Warson have three wins at No. 1 Doubles.
Sunday's match will take place at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center in Omaha, located on 120th street just north of Miracle Hills Drive and south of Blondo Street. Play will begin at 5:00 p.m.
