Men's Golf Takes 11th at Georgetown Intercollegiate

Nate Vontz leads team in all three rounds
BEALLSVILLE, Md. -- Nate Vontz finished as Creighton's top performer in each round to help the Bluejay men's golf team to an 11th place finish at the 35th Georgetown Intercollegiate, which wrapped up Tuesday in Beallsville, Md.
Vontz tied for 15th place with loops of 72, 75 and 70. His 70 on Tuesday was his team-high fifth round of the fall of par or better. The junior owned five birdies on the morning.
Junior Brandt Radloff tied for 47th place after accumulating a 228 aggregate. He shot a 73 and 76 on Monday before wrapping up the tournament with a 79.
Sophomore Tucker Knaak began with circuits of 76 and 80 before closing with a 74. He tied for 53rd place.
Senior Andrew McCormick sandwiched rounds of 77 with a second round 79. He placed 63rd with a 233 total.
Rounding out the Bluejay lineup was freshman Jack Olson. He shot rounds of 76, 79 and 82 to claim a 66th place finish.
Washington won the tournament by 27 shots with an 835 total, including a 12-under total of 272 in Tuesday's final round. Husky teammates Noah Woolsey (72-69-67) and Henry Lee (66-69-73) shared medalist honors. The competition featured 12 teams and 72 competitors on the Four Streams course that measured 7,102 yards and was a par 71 layout.
The tournament featured five BIG EAST teams, with Butler (862) tying for second place, host Georgetown (890) ninth, Seton Hall 10th (897), Creighton (906) 11th and DePaul (909) in 12th place.
Creighton will close out its fall season next Monday and Tuesday at the Musketeer Classic in Cincinnati, Ohio.
