Men's Golf Places Sixth at Huskers Git-R-Done Invitational

Tucker Knaak places 10th to lead the Bluejay contingent
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Creighton men's golf team finished sixth at the Git-R-Done Huskers Invitational on Saturday in Lincoln.
Nebraska's first home meet since 2005 was a 36-hole competition held at Firethorn Golf Club and measured 7,025 yards on the par-71 layout. The competition featured six teams and 45 entrants overall.
Creighton's Tucker Knaak tied for 10th place to lead the Bluejay contingent, firing scores of 72 and 76 for a 148 overall. It was the freshman's fourth top-10 finish in nine events this season.
Three Bluejays tied for 20th place with a 153 total, Koy Potthoff (74-79), Nate Vontz (80-73) and Andrew McCormick (80-73). Vontz now owns a team-high six top-20 finishes this season.
Brad Keyer turned in loops of 85 and 82 to tie for 41st place.
Competing as individuals and not factoring into the Bluejay team score were Kevin Wahle and Joe Torkelson. Wahle placed 39th with circuits of 82 and 83 for a 165 total in his collegiate debut, while Torkelson turned in scores of 87 and 81 for a 168 total, good for 43rd place.
Arkansas had five of the top seven performers in the event, winning the event by 19 shots over Nebraska with a 567 total. The Razorbacks' Tyson Reeder and South Dakota State's Jared Nicholls shared medalist honors with a 140 aggregate.
Creighton closes the regular-season on April 26-28 in Okatie, S.C., at the BIG EAST Championships.
