Uncasville, Conn. -- For the second time in program history, first since 2016, the Creighton Women's Basketball program has reached the BIG EAST Tournament Finals. The task at hand is to upset #3 Connecticut on the Huskies home turf at Mohegan Sun Arena. Fresh off a 73-44 win over Seton Hall, #23 Creighton will put its best foot forward on Monday at 6:00 p.m.
Scouting #3 Connecticut (30-3)
UConn completed the BIG EAST season undefeated, with its closest game being the 72-61 win at Creighton on Jan. 25.
As challenging as playing the Huskies can be, that task increases when UConn is at home. While Mohegan Sun Arena is not technically one of the Huskies two home sites, it may as well be.
Three players average double figures for UConn, led by 18.8 ppg from BIG EAST Player of the Year Paige Bueckers. BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Sarah Strong brings 16.1 ppg and 8.3 rpg, while Azzi Fudd averages 12.7 ppg.
Scouting #23 Creighton (26-5)
Having reached their first goal of the BIG EAST Tournament by reaching the Finals, Creighton is looking for its first Tournament Title.
Creighton coasted to a 73-44 win over Seton Hall in the semifinals, getting a little more rest than expected for its core.
Veterans scorers Morgan Maly and Lauren Jensen continue to be the focal point of the offense with both crossing 2,000 points as a Bluejay in the last three games. Â

- Creighton would earn its first BIG EAST Tournament Title and first conference tournament championship since 2012.
