
Women’s Tennis Duo Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton Women's Tennis senior Annika Elvestrom and sophomore Sophie Schwartz were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, May 12.
This year marks the second CSC Academic All-District honor for Elvestrom, while Schwartz is receiving the recognition for the first time in her career.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Team, selected by CSC, recognized the nation's top student athletes for the combined performance on the courts and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognized tennis honorees in four divisions, NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA. Student Athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late May.
Earning her second CSC Academic All-District honor, Elvestrom with graduate from Creighton with a bachelor's degree in accounting, boasting a 3.92 GPA. A six-time member of the Creighton honor roll, Elvestrom has earned ITA Scholar-Athlete and BIG EAST All-Academic Team honors three times.
On the court, the Wayzata, Minn. native led the Bluejays with 20 victories this season, including 12 singles wins mainly at the No. 4 and No. 5 singles positions. In addition, Elvestrom also teamed up with Olivia Minikel, Karli Vo and Livia Rodrigues Daud for eight doubles victories. Overall, Elvestrom finished her career with 98 total victories, ranking 17thall-time with 55 career singles wins.
Schwartz wrapped up her first season with the Bluejays owning a 3.96 cumulative GPA while studying accounting. On the court, Schwartz closed out the 2026 season by earning Second Team All-BIG EAST honors. Playing at the top singles and doubles position, Schwartz combined for 17 wins, including a team-high 10 doubles victories.

Academic Standing:
- Student-Athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
- Student-athletes must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination either as undergraduate or graduate students. Only the school at which an athlete competed in the current academic year can nominate that player.
- Student-athletes who have graduated from their own institution during the current academic year and are not competing in athletics at another institution at the time of nomination are eligible.
- An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
- The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to a 3.50.
NEW: Athletic Eligibility
- M/W Tennis: Eligible nominees need to be in the lineup for 70% of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores.
