
Women's Tennis Blanks Baker 7-0

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Creighton women's tennis team blanked Baker 7-0 at the Wood Valley Racquet Club this weekend.
Creighton (2-4) opened by sweeping all three doubles matches from Baker (0-2) to take the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. Senior Jennie Hartjes and sophomore Katherine Nelsen won 6-1 on court one. The CU freshman duo of Darby Rosette and Natalie Miller won 6-0 on court two while junior Sam Anderson and senior Liz Vermillion won by the same score on court three.
The Bluejays continued to dominate on the singles courts. CU swept all six matches in straight sets and surrendering three total games or less.
Hartjes, Nelsen, Rosette and Miller went 2-0 on the day with a singles victory in addition to a doubles win. Junior Karlin Naslund won 6-0, 6-1 on court five while senior Amanda Noonan earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory on court six.
Creighton continues its early season road swing when it plays at former MVC rival Northern Iowa on Friday afternoon.
