Women's Tennis Takes Two in Orlando

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Creighton women's tennis team won both of its matches by 7-0 scores against Hampton and Connecticut College at the Oak Street Community Park in suburban Orlando on Wednesday.
Creighton (7-8) won decisive victories by not dropping a set all day and surrendered only eight games or less in each of its dozen singles victories. The Bluejays also swept the doubles matches against Hampton (0-5) and Connecticut College (2-3).
Two Bluejays went 4-0 on the day with a two singles wins and a pair of doubles decisions. Senior Liz Vermillion and sophomore Katherine Nelsen each scored four victories including one by default.
Freshman Natalie Miller went 3-0 with two doubles wins and a singles victory on court four against Hampton.
Three Jays racked up a pair of singles wins in senior Jennie Hartjes, classmate Amanda Noonan and freshman Darby Rosette.
A pair of Bluejays earned two doubles victories in junior Sam Anderson and sophomore Simone Hussussian.
CU junior Karlin Naslund, sophomore Lauran Renjard and freshman Ashley Monaco each posted a doubles win as well.
Creighton is back in action Thursday to conclude its spring break trip to Florida in a BIG EAST match against Providence.
