Women's Tennis Win Streak Halted In Loss To Charlotte

Creighton falls 5-2 in first loss in lthe last six matches
ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Creighton women's tennis team had its five-match win streak snapped as the Bluejays fell 5-2 to Charlotte on Monday evening in Orlando, Fla.
The loss drops Creighton's overall record to 5-4, while Charlotte evened its record at 4-4.
Charlotte won the first point thanks to victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take an early 1-0 lead in the match.
The 49ers then won the first four singles matches to reach completion before CU won the final two matches, both in three sets.
Sam Anderson got CU's first victory of the night at No. 5 singles. She lost the first set 6-0 to Fleur Holtkamp before responding with a 7-6 win in the second set. She won the match with a 6-1 third set triumph.
Also emerging victorious for CU was Ashley Ishimura at No. 1 singles. Ishimura won a 10-5 third set tiebreaker after splitting the first two sets with Tai Martin.
Creighton returns to action in Orlando on Tuesday when it meets Tarleton State at 5:30 pm Central.
