Bluejays fought for doubles point before winning in straight sets at all six singles positions
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton women's tennis team downed Nebraska-Kearney, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
The Bluejays improved to 8-5, while the Lopes moved to 3-10.

Creighton cruised to straight-sets wins at all six singles slots. Julia Aguirre won 6-0, 6-1 for her second singles win of the season to start the action. Wilcox added to the Bluejays' edge with her team-leading eighth singles victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2. Nowakowska clinched the overall dual and dropped only one game at No. 3 (6-1, 6-0).
Meredith Benson earned her first victory of the season with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 before Erin Epperson won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 and Krueger ended the match with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at the top position.
"We played a solid match although there are still some things we need to improve that showed up more in doubles," head coach Tom Lilly said. "Getting out of our comfort zones during matches is always a tough thing to do but we can reach another level if we can do that more."
Creighton closes the regular season on April 17 against Doane for senior day.
