Dixit and Tran Earn BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week

OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton women's tennis freshmen Mithila Dixit and Teresa Tran have been named the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
This week's accolades mark the first BIG EAST Weekly honor of both Dixit and Tran's collegiate careers.
The recognition comes as Dixit and Tran dropped just one game and recorded a perfect 2-0 record at the No. 2 doubles position to help the Bluejays post a pair of wins over Western Illinois and crosstown rival Omaha this past weekend.
The Dixit and Tran tandem first posted a 6-0 win over Western Illinois' Nour Gueblaoui and Chloe Routier in the Jays 7-0 sweep on Saturday, before cruising to a 6-1 triumph over Omaha's Jacqueline Pearsall and Shelby Smith in a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Mavericks on Sunday afternoon.
The freshman duo has now won seven of their last eight doubles matches, improving to 7-2 in doubles this season.
Dixit, Tran and the rest of the Creighton women's tennis team will return to action on Friday, Feb. 27 at 4:30 p.m. when they hit the road for a match at North Dakota.
